During his working career, Frank was an editor and publisher on various technical publications. He had considerable success in the UK during the 1950s, writing solid mainstream SF. Although his 1950's SF did not translate into part of the SF boom in the 1970's, Frank was a Guest of Honour at several conventions.
Born Francis Bertram Bryning, Frank died peacefully on 12 October 1999, at Wynnum, Queensland, aged 92.
For Men Must Work was reprinted in Baxter, John, Pacific Book of Australian SF, Angus and Robertson 1968
